SAM Magazine—Eden, Utah, June 29, 2026—Bill CubbagePowder Mountain named Bill Cubbage as general manager of resort operations. He will oversee guest services, rental and retail, base area operations, ski and ride school, mountain operations, ski patrol and I.T.

Cubbage joined Powder Mountain in 2024, previously serving as vice president of mountain operations. Prior to that, Cubbage spent 15 years at Whitefish Mountain Resort, Mont., first as director of snow sports and then as director of mountain operations. Earlier in his career, he held operational leadership roles at Tamarack Resort, Idaho, and Vail Resorts.

“From an operations standpoint,” said Cubbage, “the sheer size and unique business model [of Powder Mountain] present interesting professional challenges. I’ve enjoyed the task of marrying traditional ski area management philosophies with a culture that’s curious and willing to innovate. It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced elsewhere, and I’m grateful to help lead and learn from a really dynamic team.”

As part of the resort’s executive leadership team, Cubbage will report to Powder Mountain president Brandi Hammon. He succeeds general manager Kevin Mitchell, who moved on from the resort this summer.
