Monster Companies Resolve Trademark Spat

SAM Magazine–Durango, Colo., Jan. 8, 2005–Snow Monsters and Monster Cable have amicably resolved their dispute over any possible trademark infringement over the two companies’ use of the word “monster.” As a result, Snow Monsters has withdrawn its complaint against Monster Cable.

According to Jack Turner of Sirdar, Snow Monsters’ parent company, “Noel Lee, the founder and president of Monster Cable and I have been in serious but cordial discussions. . . . Noel and I are in agreement that there is no conflict or ill-will between Snow Monsters and Monster Cable Products–none whatsoever.”

Both companies will continue to protect their trademarks, Turner said in a prepared statement. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but he told SAM that Snow Monsters came out “whole.”
