Ski Area Management (“SAM,” “we,” “us”), published by Beardsley Publishing Corp., operates saminfo.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have — including your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, “CCPA/CPRA”).
Information we collect
- Account & subscription details — name, email, mailing address, and subscription status. Magazine subscriptions and payments are processed by SimpleCirc; we do not store your payment card on the Site.
- Newsletter sign-ups — the email address (and optional name) you provide.
- Classified & community submissions — the listing or post content, your contact details, and, where a paid listing or boost is purchased, payment details handled by our payment processor.
- Event registrations — the attendee details you submit.
- Messages you send us — anything you include in a contact form or email.
- Information collected automatically — analytics about which articles and ads are viewed (via first-party measurement, Google Analytics, and Altis Accelerate, all loaded only with your consent) and standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested). See our Cookie Policy.
How we use information
- To provide the Site, fulfill subscriptions, publish classifieds, and operate the community board and events.
- To send the newsletters and service messages you request (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To measure and improve the Site using first-party analytics.
- To protect the Site against fraud, spam, and abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Cookies & tracking
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to run the Site. With your consent we also use analytics — first-party measurement, Google Analytics, and Altis Accelerate. A prior-blocking consent banner means no non-essential cookies or analytics load until you opt in, and you can change your mind any time via Your Privacy Choices. Brand fonts are self-hosted on our own servers, so visiting the Site does not share your IP address with a font CDN.
We do not sell your personal information
SAM does not sell your personal information for money, and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and provide the opt-out the law requires.
Your privacy choices
You can control non-essential cookies at any time using the Your Privacy Choices control (also linked in the site footer). We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information — if your browser sends GPC, we apply the opt-out automatically.
California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share — and we honor GPC).
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use sensitive personal information for inferring characteristics).
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny you service or charge you more for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, use Your Privacy Choices or email privacy@saminfo.com. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes the law requires. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS and protected by modern security headers (HSTS, Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy, and Permissions-Policy). No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
The Site is a business publication intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
