SAM Magazine-Park City, Utah, Oc. 22, 2009-Vail Resorts is no longer seeking control of The Canyons, it said in a court filing in Denver on Tuesday. VR had claimed in 2008 that American Skiing Company had breached a contract to sell the resort to VR. After it failed to block the sale, VR continued to pursue control of The Canyons. VR’s latest announcement leaves Talisker Corp., which purchased The Canyons from American Skiing Company last year, as the undisputed owner of the resort.
The court filing also dismisses American Skiing Co. from the lawsuit. However, VR said it reserves the right to seek monetary damages.
